Gear Drops

A gear drop is for people who want to hike, but do not want to carry all the weight of their gear. We can pack in additional climbing equipment to climbing groups, supplies for families with children, extra food and/or equipment for people who want a little bit more luxury to help enjoy their stay.

Gear Drops; We can deliver gear to a pre-designated spot, usually by midday, or pick gear up, again about midday and deliver it back to a trailhead. Cost is based on each days service and at 150 lbs intervals. Base rate is $550.00 and allows 150 lbs of gear to be packed 12 miles in. Each additional 150 lbs increment is $135.00. If your location is beyond the 12 miles we are happy to quote a rate to you.

Our premier Gear drop is the "Hike on the Winds" trip (see Trekking & Hiking Tours) where we support your hike from one end of the Wind River Mountain range to the other, covering over 120 miles along the continental divide. This trip usually takes a full week. We carry 35 lbs of gear per person. We supply all the camp gear, food, packers and cook.

If you are more than half an hour late for a scheduled meeting with packers an added fee may be added to your bill.  This fee will be based on $25.00 per hour per guide and $15.00 per animal.
